Prayagraj: The UP govt has launched "Dastak" campaign across the state, including Prayagraj, for the prevention and control of communicable diseases.
The campaign will run until April 30, and health workers will be conducting a door-to-door awareness drive and survey patients with symptoms of communicable diseases.
District malaria officer (Prayagraj) Dr Anand Singh told TOI that the campaign was launched in city on Thursday with the deployment of around 5,500 health workers of the district, including 4,500 ASHA workers, 600 ANMs, and anganwadi workers.
"These health workers will conduct door-to-door surveys across 23 blocks of the district and collect information about people suffering from fever, TB, filariasis and leprosy in the family," Singh said.
The information will be collected and uploaded on e-Kavach portal so that an intensive strategy can be chalked out to deal with these diseases. These health workers will also collect information about malnourished children in the district, and subsequently, a campaign can be launched against malnutrition.
The Dastak campaign will also facilitate the creation of Aabha ID (Ayushman Bharat Health account), which was started to make the health records of citizens digitally safe and easy. Workers will go door-to-door, collect information about the creation of Aabha ID for the people, and make them aware of creating the crucial ID.
With their enrolment, all the medical records of people will be stored on a single digital platform. Once compiled, doctors will be able to read the patient's medical bulletin and provide better and faster treatment. Also, it will become easier to connect with health insurance schemes like Ayushman Bharat.
Meanwhile, along with the treatment and elimination of diseases identified in the Dastak campaign, special drives are also on to prevent heat-related illnesses. Under the plan, health workers are visiting schools and briefing children and teaching staff about the measures to protect themselves from heat waves. ORS will also be distributed in the schools.
The authorities of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation and the District Panchayat have also been instructed to identify places with waterlogging, water-filled ponds, empty plots, and places with bushes and take actions accordingly while drafting a micro plan for anti-larva spray and fogging.
